Clam bottom
Now compare this pic with older pics. Any difference?
This is my one and only giant clam, Tridacna squamosa. It's pretty big, the shell's at least half a foot across I'd think. Thinking of buying a T.crocea next but we'll see. They don't come cheap. =( The clam used to be sitting on the rocks, but I did some re-arrangment so as to lure the anemone out (think it worked), so I pulled this one out and placed him on the sand instead. I tore out his byssal threads, and was pretty worried last night when he didn't really open. But he's ok again today! In fact the colours are so much more vivid when you look at clams from top-down.
Some blue sponge above the clam, the electrifying orange zoanthids on the bottom left, and some colt coral on the right.
