lithops

A pot of Lithops sp. , aka "living stones". What a crude layman term for such gems! Most of mine were grown in 1:1 vermiculite and peat in the past, but those tend to rot. So this time I'm growing them in 100% river sand, with some pebbles for aesthetic purposes on top. So far, so good .. only 1 mortality. The red one on the top right's a really yummy colour. These were brought back quite recently by a fellow CP-grower (he grows more orchids actually) from Cameron Highlands. Now tempted to buy a bunch of them from the States if these pull through a full year. Now those will be labelled with their species names instead of coming as a bunch of anonymous Lithops.
