OK, blogger cranked up on me last night, couldn't post anything!
Mainly 2 things happened yesterday in the tank - yx's goatfish died for no reason, and I'm suspecting it's cyanide poisoning. There's no way anybody can catch this fish without resorting to traps of some sort, and the ridiculously low price of the fish made me think it's not net-caught. Going to buy from more reputable sources next time, instead of contributing to reef destruction.
Also, one of my remaining female anthias (the male died, remember?) has started to morph into a male!! She's becoming very aggressive, and changing colour. Right now the markings are black, but soon they'll change into bright pinks and oranges.
The lectures yesterday were .... urgh. Dopey actually fell asleep through most of Prof. Kumar's talk! Haha ... I don't blame her though. I would too, if not for the fact that I was in Prof's direct line of vision. Shall choose a less conspicuous seat today. He actually was rather hilarious. He asked, "How do you know this patient is a motorcyclist?". It's the hair. It's standing up! Had an introduction to the various traction devices used in fractures, and they were disgusting, especially the one used for cervical spine fractures. Imagine drilling holes into your skull and having 5lb weights pulling up your spine via your skull!! Barbaric ... yes, ortho surgeons are barbaric. Reduction of dislocations was really scary as well. I can't imagine tugging and pulling at a limp hand to yank the joint back into its socket. Guilty today. Didn't read anything at all!!! Bad boy, bad boy!!
Oh, indulged in a tiny bit of shopping. Yx went to take passport-sized photos for her US Visa, and I dropped by Henry's to buy a small bottle of concentrated phytoplankton. Pretty amazing stuff, hopefully I don't overfeed and pollute the tank.
