Ah, there's some confusion over the spinal Phalen's test. The Phalen's test is described in McRae - a method to test for carpal tunnel syndrome. The spinal Phalen's test is different altogether; it serves to induce neurogenic claudication seen in patients with spinal stenosis. Oddly enough, only Wheeless' Textbook gives any reference to this test. Here it is!
