And YX says I'm a control freak of my aquarium?!?? Look at these planted tanks - every twig, every leaf - all pruned to perfection. Now THAT'S control. =D
Talking about this, I freaked her out again by talking about my dream control module - the Aquacontroller Pro by Neptune Systems. It's a microprocessor that's freakingly amazing. Some things it does:
1) pH control - it turns off the CO2 input into the calcium reactor if pH drops too low
2) ORP control - it turns on the ozone generator that pumps into the protein skimmer if oxygen-redox potention drops
3) Water-on-floor indicator - a probe on the cabinet floor near the tank senses any leak, then either sounds an alarm or pages the reefer. Yes, the Aquacontroller can be plugged into a modem and phone line and sends SMS messages if anything goes wrong.
4) Cloud cover simulator - this is THE ULTIMATE. And yx thinks moonlight control is crazy?? The control module is plugged to the lighting, and randomly dims it to simulate clouds obscuring the sun.
Of course, there are other features - like graph logging for pH, ORP, temp, oxygen saturation - all real-time, onto a PC that's linked to the Aquacontroller Pro.
Now, this is full control. =D
