X'mas dinner was excellent, if I may say so myself! Now, turned out that the decor wasn't important, since I made so much food it became a family thing instead of just the 2 of us (as it was intended for originally).

The bouillabaisse was really better-than-expected for a first attempt, and I didn't even have a recipe to follow to! =D Did it as authentically as I could, although I skipped using real white fish broth and white fish meat. Loads of fresh tarragon and thyme leaves too, and added just this special touch using saffron!! But the darned things are crappily expensive. A few flower stamens for $10, and as yx said, that was $5 into the pot when I added a teaspoon of the stamens in. Used a bunch of different shellfish - brown and green mussels, shrimp and whatnot.
