condoms
Met Mimi for lunch today, and he shocked yx and I by whipping out this gigantic box of condoms. Appley is right below for size comparison, I think there were 48 or 50 small boxes of 3s inside. Apparently he nicked the box while working as a medic in SAF, so these are the stuff we hand out to the navy people when they go overseas. Nice sort of education huh? And to think that many of these are guys are just like, 17 or 18?? Reproachable.
Anyway, he's bringing these to India for a community project thingy. I'm wondering if he's going to demonstrate the technique of using it correctly. It's quite an art, apparently. Elaborate instructions included in a little piece of paper inside.

Well, at least they are getting some protection. Although isn't it perpetrating the idea that sailors look for sex in harbours? Cliche. I hate cliches.
We have strange policies. We don't seem to advocate the use of condoms in public, yet we give them freely to our sailors. sigh... twisted.
