dessert : sorbet
The most difficult .... SOMEHOW, the 2 chef's helpers (mariah and yx - although yx was doing mostly damage control in the kitchen by cleaning up as soon as I mess it up) managed to de-stone the nectarines!! I was impressed.
We froze the excavated nectarines, then filled it with Wildberry Sorbet. Blended well, and was the most well-received dish. Still have 4 left in the fridge for tomorrow! And half a litre of the sorbet for my OWN enjoyment, hahahaha!
OK, no more for a while. I enjoy cooking, but feasts for special occasions sometimes are too much. I spent like $60 on today's dinner alone, but oh well. We only get it once a year, don't we? Now, Valentine's Day and other special days ... those form another story altogether. Although I really loved it during my Bday this year when yx threw a surprise party for me after I arrived home from TTSH, and Mimi and gang were down in the kitchen helping with the tempura and sushi as well. (On hindsight, think I regretted trusting him with the sushi, they turned out to be misshaped lumps of rice) =D Oh, the fun of masak-masak with friends!! Zar Zar, want to do a Halal session one day with Mimi and Alex?? Will burst into flames with the Rendangs and curries!
