AH!! Changed venue, I'm rid of WCP!!! It's now ECP, 15 mins away only, and my. My, my, MY. No more cruising at jogging speed, or bracing myself up everytime I see those dreaded rough granite patches. It's smooth as hell at ECP, pedestrians are generally aware of the danger and keep out of the skate track, and loads of people there skating too. Did 2 loops round the place, and no aches at the ankles at all. So, I identified the causative agent - it's the granite patches. Just before I go on it, I'll have to tighten all the foot's intrinsic muscles to gain stability, and later end up with dollor pedis.

And you get to see amusing sights too. Like this half-naked guy trying to skate with his gf (I can only presume he's not ashamed of his skinny-ness) and a bunch of VERY good stunt bikers - the best I've seen so far, in fact. And pretty young, too - 18s?

Oh, and there's a new skating rink. It was meant to be a beginner's corner, but somehow the aggressive skaters aggregate there with cones and such. My sis and I were initially very interested and we started watching them. Until they starting pulling off extremely feminine moves which look oddly familiar to those that frequent (not me) ice-skating rinks. AH. So they are ice-skaters practicing on skates. It was pretty awkward to see guys doing things like twirls (note I do not use the word "spins", as the case should have been) and skips (once again, I avoid the word "jumps"). =) OK, being mean, but it really really was amusing.

And there was this whoa! speed skater there, he went like double my speed?? Ouch ...

In the cover of darkness I attempted a spin. Yikes. Shows how long I've been out of the sport. Miss skating with Nik, gah. Yx's taking up ice-skating at Wis (it's an approved module over there - wow!) so with any luck, she'll be really adept at skating by the time she's back! Just that she'll have a pair of ice skates, I'll have a pair of in-line blades. Hmmm. One, or both of us shall have to make extra investments, but more likely the former. I do not forsee paying good money to visit the ice-skating rink each week, and that's assuming there's extra time in the first place.

Today's work log - NO WORK DONE. Well done, Mr. Tan! You promised to revise diuretics, you prat! OK, that'll be tonight. MUST.
