New year's here again!! Just had hell of fun at the Hilton's countdown dinner, it was pretty cool - a Mardi Gras-themed dinner. Menu was interesting as well, although the foie gras with pigeon breast was awfully heavy. Felt like puking after that. Best part was the wild mushroom soup - now that's some mushroom! There was this excellent jazz pianist playing good music - Mack the Knife, Fever, Clementine etc.

My parents, yx and I then proceeded to the lounge bar where this Phillipino troupe was singing really, really good songs. Knew almost all the songs - and they aren't pop songs. =D Good taste, these people. Probably had too much fun to properly blog about it, but they had a whole load of balloons caught in a net right above us, and straight at 0000hrs they let all the balloons down. Most of them ended up being trampled on though.

Oh .. and my parents were CRAZY. They brought dance shoes (ok, so did we, but we didn't really EXPECT to really dance properly) and CDs, which they asked the DJ to play. Started off with my dad actually doing a performance in front of the whole crowd, hahaha ... oh well, yx and I joined in eventually. =p She wasn't wearing gym shorts under the skirt, so we couldn't do too many flips - but what we did do, attracted wolf-whistles. =D haha ..

When the crowd warmed up after like 40mins, they started joining in with the usual disco-ish dancing. The Phillipino female singer was SO PRETTY!! She looked like Fiona Xie with less cuteness and more spice, and she started dragging me up on stage to sing with her (probably broke a few glasses at the bar cos of my croak) and later on we danced a little together to "Can't Take My Eyes off You" ooooh la la. OK, shall stop here, lest some people think I'm a perv. =p Was pleasantly surprised NOT to have them play silly pop songs, they did sensible good pop has-beens like "Tragedy" by Steps and a couple of Barry White's pieces.

It's pretty cool to have a whole crowd in the Hilton counting down to our 3rd anniversary. Come to think of it, every Dec 31st, at least our part of the world is counting down to it, muahahaha .. sneaky! =D Just received my ring! Haha .. hope it's not too nice to wear to hospital. Took home a bunch of balloons for my sisters, got scolded real bad by Brownie when I got back, he was waiting downstairs all alone in the dark for me to come home.

Tomorrow he'll be making his debut in his new shirt!!! Can't wait!
