For the first time in my life, I went down for a new shipment like the usual KS S'p reefers. Well, had nothing to do anyway, and so went all the way down to Pasir Ris. It was a Carribean shipment, and I had to resist VERY hard not to buy that beautiful Carribean Royal Gramma. OK, actually, I'm half-regretting it now, but heck. That's $38 saved towards buying a purple montipora I guess! But in any case, I didn't go home empty-handed (how can any self-respecting reefer?). Bought a blue Ricordea florida and yet another Acanthasthrea lordhowensis. The A. lord has a neon green eye, blue-green flesh with a ring of red. Nice! As for the R.florida, it's my very first time trying this species, so I hope it survives. I did something rather drastic though - fragged it! With any luck, I'll soon have 2!

Measured water parameters today and got a shock. dKh was at 10, I might try to raise it a little. It was NITRATES that shocked me. 25mg/dL!! GASP. This calls for emergency treatment - a P1 case. Scooted out for 1L of SeaChem's de*nitrate, and I might do a water change again this weekend. There's an island-wide shortage of frozen mysis shrimp. Bought a bottle of Garlic Guard for cheap, $5! Will upload photos of tank later when I install the camera.
