Update:

Was really worried the last 2 days, only been seeing 2 tilefishes - where's the 3rd? No fouling of water, no body, nothing at all. And I can't imagine the other 2 living with a dead corpse in their little tunnel either.

This morning, while adding kalkwasser slurry to the overflow compartment, THERE IT IS. It jumped out of the tank into the overflow, and now I'm having a technical headache trying to get it out. Shall attempt it tonight I guess, else it'd starve to death.

More bad news - tank's down with a major ich parasite infection, I guess I may have to invest in that $35 UV steriliser after all. The cleaner shrimp aren't doing their job, and the cleaner wrasse does nothing but irritates the fish. =(

Also, flame angel pair went beserk this week and started nipping on my T.squamosa clam. The squamosa is now so stressed it's barely opening. They are (thankfully) leaving the T.crocea clam alone though. OK, fine - yes, yes, I know. I acquired the angels knowing it's a hit-or-miss with them disturbing my clams, and specimens have been known to turn strange and suddenly pick up such bad habits. Shall see if I can change their habits a bit. Ah, if only it was as easy as training puppies not to chew on stuff, just lace it with bitter-tasting stuff.

The good thing? The other 2 tilefish have started eating cyclop-eeze, which is extremely good for them. Shall have to monitor them. New xenia attached to rock within 48 hours, and is even producing a baby now, how nice. Made a cutting of my old xenia but the stupid frag fell off the rock into limbo (areas under the rocks ... bah).

Water change has been postponed due to bad back. I swear the fish are having a swearing gala at me right now.
