Xeniids and freebies

And while we're on the subject of Xeniids, the one on the right's the Fiji variety of X.umbellata. I'm still looking for the pink Red Sea one. The polyps all look closed as they were in their closing phase of pumping when I took the picture. This is one amusing coral, the only one I know of that moves the most voluntarily without wave action. The polyps open and close like what we do with our fingers when we sing "Twinkle twinkle little star"

The brownish coral on the left was a FREEBIE!!! It's a staghorn acropora, and if you look closely you can see the symbiotic Acropora crabs on it. The piece looks promising - a little hint of purple showing up. Most of them come in with nice colours but eventually "brown out" under poor shop lighting, and therefore go for cheap.
