A cool fish, with an even cooler name ...

Selene vomer.

Now, photos DO NOT do this fish ANY justice. The juvenile form of this fish sports long trailing streamers at the ends of all its fins (except the tail fin), and gosh, it's so graceful. And beautiful - irridiscent gold and silver flashing along its body. Also known as the Lookdown Fish, Horseface (Mr. Ye - remember Miss "History" Ma3 Lian3? ;) ), or chomeng in local terms (yes, people do eat these). It's currently eating live freshwater shrimp with amazing agility, and hopefully I'll be able to switch over to frozen shrimp soon. Forked out $35 for him, and honestly .. I think it was worth it. We shall see, hopefully he doesn't grow too large too soon. More pictures!
