ok, nasty thing happened. I pulled a muscle on my back .. more specifically, the infraspinatus and a huge chunk of my serratus muscles.

Going to end up walking around examining patients with my RIGHT arm flopping around uselessly on the side.

We were practicing some aerials this evening after formal rehearsals, and the accident really came when I was trying to show ZJ the technique of doing the 2nd part of the Cradle Throw - basically the follower does a dive from the lead's right-hand side to his left, over his back. The lead tucks her under his body while grasping her under the knees using his left hand (yes, quite a LOT of contortion, momentum and brute force here) and swings her back to his right. Kind of like an orbit around the lead. Well .. hah. I contorted too much, and ended up with a nasty sprained back.

Surprisingly I could still demonstrate a Death Drop after that. And it was actually my first attempt, ooooops. =D

Best pic of a DD I could find, obviously that isn't me.

Amazingly, we finished the entire new routine within 1 hour today! Kudos to all the hardworking people in the group .. a huge chunk of it were totally new to them, and they mastered the Lindy Roulette in record time.

Aye ... these sessions make me happy. I appreciate a healthy break from work where my mind's blissfully blank (Except the part where ZJ almost dropped Cheryl on the ground while doing an aerial. Honestly .. he's way too gung-ho sometimes. We need mattresses, I think.)

Brown University has an amazing Swing Club site, where they show this crazy aerial I've never ever seen before - the Coathanger Flip. Check out the video!
