Feeling awful right now. The girls will think I'm crazy, but it's because my parents called me up after lessons today, drove me down to 2 different locations and blew more than $400 on 2 pairs of shoes for me today. Spontaneously. Did my birthday pass by again or what? Yeah, definitely a girl's dream come true, but for me it just chewed on my conscience the entire evening.
First pair was a (long-needed, honestly, but not really Needed-needed) pair of Clarke's walking shoes. Yep, the crazy old man in my house insists on nothing less than that for men's shoes, so hehe .. have to give him credit for taste sometimes.
The real guilt-slapper was the second pair, which is a pair of Supadance ballroom shoes. No matter what angle I look at the shoes from, I still don't figure what makes it worth that much money. Dad claims it will magically make my samba much better. Or something along those lines ... Not a good idea actually, seeing I actually already have a pair of ballrooms ... still going strong after 1 year of use, although I had to add extra insole since samba is wicked on the balls of the feet.
I *swear* I never asked for any of these things. But it was really nice nonetheless, a much-dreamed about change from the usual "you need something? I'll give you the $ but I won't be there with you" kind of thing. Yeah I know this sounds sad, but that's the way it's always been. OK, revealing too much to public scrutiny. Bleargh. Possibly these scenarios apply to my hobbies only, and great. I guess I can't blame anyone.
