Just recently taken a huge fancy to hand-bound books. I vaguely remember seeing a lovely one while browsing at Borders with Mr. Ye, but at $50 it was a little dear to use as a diary. The ones I found though, are much more than that, and definitely do not warrant a doomed life of bearing the marks of my life. Found lovely ones online that have almost 500 pages of papyrus-like pages, thick leather binding and even clasps! Very nice indeed .. but the price, oh! the price! Nevermind. Just eye candy then. And anyway, I wonder what I'll fill it with. Perhaps I could even make history! "Memoirs of a deeply-disturbed schizoid medic".

Honestly very depressed today, I'm not being hypochondriac, but my Mantoux test is positive. Going to have to take a CXR - f*ck!! When is all this going to even end? Definitely more trouble than it's worth, I should have just opted to go somewhere rural, rather than a place where asians are seen to be walking virus-transmitters.

Other than the Mantoux test, the doc who saw me said that I'm starting to gain weight. Starting? Oh, my love - I'm already well on my way to BMI 50 and impending CABG, you poor mistaken soul.

Needless to say, yesterday ended in a sad state. So was yx. At least, misery had company yesterday.

Got to keep my mind clear of what I need to do. Clear my work first, find empty slots during school time to go for a CXR (I'm sure Fones wouldn't mind me going off for half a day sometime, especially if I'm at risk of giving the entire faculty PTB) and settle the CPF thingy. I wonder who the HELL came up with the saying "life's a roller coaster". It's supposed to mean it's got ups and downs? For me, it's terror all the way on a roller coaster.

Right. Feeling all upset now, Maria's leaving this morning and I won't be able to send her off. As I learnt yesterday, this constitutes a stressor in life too. Perhaps a score of 30? We all signed on a book we bought her, and I added a wax seal for fanciness. =D Surprised that kino sells sealing wax, I was just running out of it and was going to order from the uk. Bought a classic red wax and a gold one. Just for fancy formal letters. Yeah, letter-writing, book-binding. All beautiful arts quickly fading away in the wave of the electronic media.

I'm sorry about grousing on a blog (I've been doing that all along, anyway!) but it does help to write things down. Things seem so much clearer. Hopefully, this weekend when I meet Nik, I'll have another listening ear. =) Deeply indebted and grateful to a certain hypochondriac groupmate who's been online to share some of my sorrows.
