Been some time! Actually, it's because my darned computer is so irritating, the keyboard kept getting spoilt. Serviced it (myself) yet again, and hoping that it'll remain this way for some time - at least till I grad and can get a new com?

Anyway, loads of updates for the holidays. First off, welcome back, Mr. Ye! Wasn't able to log on to chat, cos of the dumb computer issues. And yx brought hers back home to do work.

Planned a few things this hols, but as yx said .. my hols seem to fill themselves up even without me trying. Which is shit, actually. Here they are:

1) Already KIV doing a new aquarium hood this break - remember the disastrous calculations for the hood?
2) Submit the dumbass electives stuff. Today.
3) Arrange Phantom of The Opera soundtrack pieces for the electone. I've already done up a rough for 2 pieces - the Theme, and Point of No Return, but both are not complete yet.
4) Of course, the looming paeds. Have to read at least a little.

Then, someone had to drop a bombshell on me last Friday night .. look out for the Sentosa Flowers show next Jan 29! =D I've already told the dumb Sentosa woman last year that CNY is *not* a good time for me to display anything, since all the plants are sleeping in the fridge. Anyway, I'll be giving a talk during the event, and yx's helping me design and do up a display as well.

Now I'm just finishing up all the "acute" stuff - things that can be done asap and left alone, i.e. items 1) and 2), and seems like I'll have to leave item 3) alone till I don't know when. Now, starting to source for pictures to use as posters and getting permission for their educational use. And finishing up all the upcoming posters etc so I won't be too bogged down when that infernal paeds posting starts.

Hmm. Something quite alarming's going to happen in my house. The Very Lovely Woman has kindly helped me to mix my peat-sand-vermiculite growth media yesterday in preparation for an ultra-large shipment of stuff from Borneo and Australia, but I'll be picking up another 3 bales of peat sometime this week - 250 litres per bale! Eeeeks. I could have done with only 1, and that distributor strictly didn't have a minimum order, but I felt bad. And anyway, could just leave it alone.

Yx got a little gross over the weekend though. Once upon a time, a certain mouse in my little mouse farm died and due to a nasty combination of exams, troubles and lack of a maid, it grew gigantic maggots. The Very Scary Scientist (yx) picked them all up with tweezers and fed them to the flytraps, and discovered - Eureka! Maggots are CP steroids! So. Last weekend, that Very Scary Scientist tried to *cultivate* maggots. She put raw chicken in a container and left it on the balcony to rot. OMG. FWIW, the balcony's right outside my room. I.e., they can crawl in. I told her last night that if I do find any of them in my room, I'd drive right over right then, go right into her room and strangle her in her bed. =p J/K.

Right. Enough of gross stuff. Visited chee kin at his nursery last weekend, and honestly .... (hmmm. comments to be kept in the head).

For the tank! Went to coralfarm and picked up the following:

1) A lovely mushroom coral. Which yx didn't like at first but turned out to be extremely pretty.
2) A toadstool leather coral.
3) A bunch of blue waving anthelia corals.
4) A panther grouper! =D For once, something that we both like. He's extremely tame and entertaining, and has started learning how to eat frozen mysis shrimp.

Oh - another thing:

AROL photo contest

I've made it into the final poll, under the handle "DragonGoby" - currently leading in the photo competition, but not by enough! So ... =D If any of you could just register for free on the site and vote for moi, I'd greatly appreciate it! Remember, it's DragonGoby, the picture's "Chomp chomp!" (captioned by yx) Oh ... the voting ends 23 Dec (this Fri) midnight, so actually it's a good idea to vote only on Fri. Don't want to seem to .. popular. =p
