Time's pretty tight for me these few weeks till after CNY, what with all the crazy 5-7pm tutorial sessions 3x a week, Funkamania performances and of course the huge display. Currently having a shitload of hardware problems for the display, in addition to the other problems with dumb shipping delays. In any case, this is a good experience - it clearly outlined which businesses are awful in terms of poor efficiency.

So now. The hardware problems. Forgive me for rambling on, but I find it helps to brainstorm in writing sometimes.

1) Displaying Nepenthes.
- The crazy tree branches refuse to stand, and keep falling down. I might have to take up their offer of cutting down trees for me (I'm ashamed) to get large-enough trunks that can stand on their own. I suppose I won't feel too bad if we can actually cut down invasive alien tree species. Stuff like the australian wattle, maybe?
- Originally wanted to transfer the Neps into 100% dead sphagnum moss substrate, then insert into coconut husks and tie on the branches. Did a try-out last night, and the coconut husks looked ridiculously large and out of place against the smallish branches I have. Again, will be solved if I can get huge branches. Alternatively I might just have to do away with the husks, and wrap in black netting instead. Very ugly.
- Tonnes of Neps to display, but it will look awfully lopsided even if they could all fit onto branches. Thinking of hanging from the ceiling, but problem - there's nothing to hang from! Hah.
2) Landscaping
- I desperately need a platform of some sort!! The awful contractor hired by sentosa rents out tiny 1x1m skirted tables at killer prices, and I'd need almost 6 of those to form a platform. I could be thick-skinned and borrow from Prince, or maybe I could make do with pellets all stacked up.
-Creating a hill ain't easy. Especially when I do not know where to get bricks from.
-Should I make posters? Going to be expensive. I should be given a grant for these consumables, hahaha.

Time to ask for help, I think. Going to have to bother mom so she can help me ask Prince for the platform, making a trip down to the factory tomorrow to measure the pellets, and going to JP to make friends with one of the other exhibitors whose stall will be right next to mine. They have such an EASY time. Tillandsias can be thrown anywhere. Also, started on contingency plan in case Australian shipment gets held up as well - cheated, and obtained a Sarracenia hybrid last night. With any luck I should be able to post pictures of the draft version during the weekend.

Now, off to more babies. Yes - as though seeing them on WEEKDAYS wasn't enough.
