Another round of skating tonight, and it just keeps feeling better. I think the endorphins really help. Or, at least, you know you're doing something good for yourself. Also visited a skate shop today, it's crazy - they're having a buy-1-get-1-free offer for their skates! AWW. Too bad it's K2 - I'm a Salomon fan. =D Even considered buying its terrain-jogging shoes today, but sigh... $$$.
Ooooh, also bought a LOVELY mouse at Courts today!! It's jet-black in colour, rather smaller than usual (LapMate brand) and it has a retractable cord. And best of all .. muahahahaha. It has lovely blue beams shooting out when connected to the computer! Very stylish. =)
After that, off to G2000 - they're having a fantastic sale! Bought 2 long-sleeved collared shirts for $25 each. Wanted to go get the white ones, but they showed stuff that should never be seen in public.
Ah hah, and ate Carl's Junior for dinner!!! OOOH LA LAH! It was like being back in the States all over the again - the size of that freaking burger! Gosh. Very $$ though - a set of that gigantic mushroom burger (made from real portabello mushroom, BTW) cost $11. Value for money though. I saw this amusing group of girls trying to eat their burgers, and repeatedly trying in vain to stuff the monsters into their mouths. They ended up taking the burger apart and eating halves at a time. And was also particularly tickled by one of their selections - "CHARBROILED beef patties". So Mr. Ye - that bossy yellow-suit woman at Ponderosa? She was wrong, haha. CharbRoiled, not charboiled. She ought to be slapped anyway. Wonder what she's doing now. Yx had this lovely sourdoughbread burger that was SO sinful - apart from the quarter-Lb beef and strips of bacon (none of that lousy overcooked hard stuff from BK), the sourdough was smeared with - no, SOAKED in- butter. Hell. I was SO CONTENTED with dinner today.
For some very odd reason, Clone #2 of the rose bubble tip anemones have started to form really nice bubble tips!! Thing is, not all RBTAs form the classical bubble tips - it's definitely not genetic, since twin studies (using anemones that have split in half) show very little concordance. Various theories as to why some RBTAs lose their bubble tips, but none are conclusive. Anyway, now I have a total of 4 anemones in the tank! 3 of them are clustered around the right side, and Clownfish is having HELL of a time frolicking in there. Really must take a pic one day, she seems to be bouncing from one puffy pink cushion to the next!
Trudged through the clinical pathways for asthma and bronchiolitis today .. very dull work. But what must be done, must be done. Just get it done and over with! Gosh .. and this isn't even theory-paper oriented. Just for the viva voce. Thankfully for paeds, they only require history. But I have a very nasty suspicion that some testers will be nasty - "what would you want to look out for during physical examination?". So .. beware. I need to work at least 10x harder. NEED TO. MUST! MUST! MUST!
OK, Brownie tripped me for the umpteenth time yesterday. It just gets worse when he's camouflaged against the parquet. Was standing beside fish tank watching them munch on frozen brine shrimp, then took a step backwards right on top of the naughty little boy. Did some socially very unacceptable stances and jigs and finally ended up on the floor, si4 jiao3 chao2 tian. And he turned round as if nothing of the sort happened, with that, "Huh? What happened to you?!?" look. After I started wailing about it, he came over and nudged me with his nose. "Are you ok? I'm so sorry .. =( .. ".
It's so hard to get angry with doggies. =)
Anyway, did a spot of gardening this weekend as well, created an accessory rack underneath the wooden plant racks, using plastic eggcrate as a platform. Should serve well for Nepenthes, since that spot offers direct morning sun and bright but indirect light most of the day. We had a fly time feeding the new plants last night - Yx derived a most alarming sadistic satisfaction out of feeding decapitated and convulsing crickets to venus flytraps.
Oh yeah .. forgot to update, this bunch of plants are from the Australian shipment which came in on last Tues. Went all the way to Sembawang to retrieve my plants. The IDIOTS detained my parcel, even though right on the top of the box, there was an envelope with font-size 48 "CITES PERMITS AND PHYTOSANITARY CERTIFICATES ENCLOSED". Freaking idiots. At least the man at that particular govt. agency was nice. He took a look at the stuff, asked if they were tissue-cultured (DUH. Do I look the sort to dig out plants from the wild?!?) and said I could bring them home.

Various premium-sized Sarracenia that came in with this shipment. At least the Australians had the courtesy to send me some lovely-looking stuff to make up for their dumbass mistake with the shipment delay!

50 "typical" flytraps enjoying a pre-soak in a basin of vitamin B complex to prevent transplant shock. Yx claims they look like beansprouts.

30 "Pink Venus" (red forms) of flytrap. They'll get redder still, a few months down the road.
