Almost there, and some things had to go

Firstly, I'm probably out of the running for writing the essay this week. It's just so hopeless. So hopeless. I simply can't finish it up, and the weekend just flashed past in a second.

Brownie had an awful time last evening and today, with quite a severe diarrhoea. No idea what may have caused it; might have been the nasty sprays I used in the garden (more on that later), or bad chicken livers, or the carrots that he ate. Woke me up in the morning by garbling at me (he's learnt to talk actually, making these grumbling noises which can either mean "mum mum" or "go out") - extremely loudly, and rushed down to the garden to avoid messing my room up. He gets all upset when he has diarrhoea, and looks miserable every time he messes himself up. In an effort to cheer the poor boy up, I cooked a nice chicken soup for him with slices of chicken breast and just a touch of salt. Yes, doggies that become ill get to eat chicken broth.

About the garden, I was absolutely paranoid about caterpillars (Mr. Ye, YOU and your caterpillar picture!!), so I liberally applied Malathion in the garden, eventually killing half of my parents' balsam plants. Yes, after I got a telling off for that, I finally found the REAL culprits - fricking slugs! Slug bait's out in full force.

Added the finishing touches to the itinerary today, and now I realise that accommodation at Skye is a major problem. The island is huge - whales and ponies are down south, while town and touristy stuff are central/north, lovely mountains are due west and the Fairy Glen is in the far north. This is absolutely awful. Spent the evening looking for B&Bs that are below 25 pounds, but the problem is that Skye has few premises that offer triple or family rooms.

Feeling a little worried right now.
