Coffee in the night

Just a little treat made by yx, been feeling generally moody these few days. Dreading going to school and having to take the place of the silly HO during the ward rounds. It's just murder, every single day. Some are just worse than others.

Doesn't help that our peace will now be disrupted by an addition to our duo, i.e. less flexibility and more accountability. To top it all off, the year 2s are making their entrance to this brand new world come tomorrow. I'd just love to see the shock register.

Oh - no, wait. THOSE were the honeymoon years, still. It's alright to forget the vocal fremitus, just because you're fresh. And just look generally stupid when asked a question, and admit that you've never been taught - yet. And of course, it started out feeling fun, flouncing around with instruments that you still don't know how to use properly. Hahaha. They'll soon discover. Soon.

Just random thoughts. Prof frightened the crap out of me by reminding us of the student internship next year. Uh oh. I'll be on my own. Can just imagine myself mixing up the wrong casefiles for the wrong patients, looking all flustered at being asked questions, and tugging frantically at needles that just REFUSE to hit the correct vein. Shit, shit, shit!

And the Glasgow thing's looming overhead. To be REALLY honest, I have NO IDEA WTF I'm going to do there, or what I actually intended to achieve. Perhaps it just stemmed from knowing that so many students actually use the electives as an extra learn-all-you-can posting, and not an "explore and indulge in your interests" period. I just don't know. Only wanted to get a glimpse of how the healthcare system works elsewhere, that's easily achievable. Wanted the perfect excuse to travel, that's done. But what about the practical aspects of it? Heck. I suppose if asked to perform an indirect fundoscopt during the MBBS, I should be able to do it with relative ease.

Actually had depressive thoughts today. Very depressive. Full marks on the DSM-IV criteria.
